  I visited on a quiet night; but The Swan Inn is, in fact, geared-up for catering for large groups. Given the quality of its kitchen service, I am not surprised. A medium-length menu priced roughly in the centre of the gastropub range was written on the chalk boards, and the diners who ranged from van-driving contractors to business-suited travellers seemed happy with what was coming from the cooking staff. My liver and mash was served with a thick sauce that did not overpower the other ingredients, and the Wye Valley Brewery ale was well kept. For quality and reasonable prices (given the care taken in cooking), this pub was a welcome discovery to which I will return. Parking outside is free.
